Hello Ladies & Gentlemen!

On September 26th, 2026, at 1:00 PM in The Open Book in The Village at Topanga, The Persaud Foundation will be hosting our Oceanic Literacy Day! We will be having an oceanic storytime for children at 1:00 PM with the book "Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist", by Jess Keating, & we will be going over some intriguing things about some of the oceans most misrepresented animals, sharks! We will be handing out Stickers, Pins, & Shark Education Fact Cards while supplies last!

If you decide to purchase any books & mention our nonprofit, 20% of your purchase will be donated to us.

This event is completely free. Whether you're a marine enthusiast or just curious about the underwater world, this event is perfect for all ages & families.

Learn about marine conservation, discover fascinating facts about ocean life, and get inspired to protect our seas for future generations.

Have a whale of a time at The Open Book, Topanga. See you there!

🌍 Around 300 million years ago, Earth looked dramatically different. Pangaea was surrounded by the vast Panthalassa Ocean.

Today, we recognize five oceans — Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern and Arctic — but together they form one interconnected global ocean.

Tracking 197 Indo-Pacific reefs, we reveal a striking contrast in marine resilience. We show that out-of-sync reefs thrive. Independent population shifts keep total abundance steady, while synchronized reefs crash.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen! Recently, we published a fascinating antique nautical chart of Patagonia. This chart is rather large, at 26.5 inches long by 38.3 inches wide. It is in pristine condition, with minimal soiling, except for some discolouration on the far left. It focuses on the southern reaches of Argentina, as well as Chile. It also features the Falkland, & South Shetland Islands.

In today’s article, we are going to examine this fascinating antique nautical map, discuss it, & analyze it. With that being said, let’s delve into the frigid, unforgiving waters of the South Atlantic!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen! We recently published our latest installment of The Pacific Tide all about the hidden world of dolphin feces, & how they contribute to California’s beautiful offshore ecosystems. In this month’s installment of The Pacific Tide, we introduce the not-so-glamourous but incredibly astonishing subject of dolphin poop! Dolphin stool is a leading solution against climate change helping absorb Co2 through the Cetacean Carbon Sequestration Cycle; single-handedly fighting greenhouse gases.

Also explore with us while we dive among California’s Pacific coral reefs flourishing from under the nutrient benefits of dolphin poop plumes. Discover the U.S. Navy’s dolphin fleet at the Navy Marine Mammal Program and the groundbreaking procedure of dolphin fecal microbiota transplants (FMTs) spearheaded by Cardiology Veterinary Consultant, Dr. Barbara Linnehan, using dolphin-to-dolphin trans-rectal transplants to entirely cure dolphins suffering from gastrointestinal disease and maligned gut microbiome flora communities. We thank science writer Orsolya Dunai for contributing today’s article.
