Swordtember 2026: 18-Tempest

A digital blade forged from nostalgia...

(the lower left view is looking down the blade btw.)

#art #my_art #swordtember_2026 #Swordtember #rbswordtember

A sword made from the parts of the old videogame tempest 2000.

The blade is a wireframe in gold with purple faces between the wires like one of the games stages.

The crosspiece is the players golden ship.

The grip is a modified copy of the red inward pointing arrow enemies.

The background is random colored stars.

The lower left shows just the blade as seen from it's base showing it fully rigged up like a level from the game, with a small ship and several red enemies advancing.

Swordtember 2026: 16-Leviathan

These harpoons (referred to as 'Blades') serve as projectiles, melee weapons, AND tools.

#art #my_art #swordtember_2026 #Swordtember #rbswordtember

A long sharp harpoon/sword/polearm. It is sharp on one side, while the other has a series of hooks coming off it until mid blade. These hooks are sharp on the outer curve and unsharp on the inner curve to help them dig deep into a target and be very hard to remove.

At the base the blade flares out to become a guard. the unsharp side has a ring piercing it for rope to attach.

The haft is about 4 hands long and made of wood with metal bands. It has a cylindrical buttcap to aid in firing it from a cannon as well as provide a small amount of counter ballance.

The background is a light blue coral pattern on a background of concentric deep blue arcs coming up from the bottom.

Swordtember 2026: 15-Lost

Barring any additional fragments from dig site 2, I feel this reconstruction is finished.

#art #my_art #swordtember_2026 #Swordtember #rbswordtember

An ancient sword broken into many fragments all arrayed on a white towel on a wooden table.

The blade is extremely wide, but hollowed out to being just thin angular edges. the blade is made of a green rough material, maybe metal or stone. The handle is deeply pitted wood.

Swordtember 2026: 14-Werewolf

Fangs of the Bloody Moon:

This pair of cursed short swords bestow lycanthropy on those wounded by them.

#art #my_art #swordtember_2026 #Swordtember #rbswordtember

A pair of short swords.

The blades end in a set of five curved red stained fangs and at the base they have a raised bit of spine with a diamond cutout resembling an eye.

The dark crosspiece is stylized to resemble a canine ear on one side, before sweeping down in a short knuckle guard.

The grip is wood that flares out at the pommel capped in the same dark metal of the crosspiece.

The background is a white disk with blue edges radiating strange sharp ephemeral shapes. The color is tinged reddish pink from the top of the image.

This 7 foot long industrial scalpel is used by veterinary surgeons of the Kaiju Conservation Society.

#art #my_art #swordtember_2026 #Swordtember #rbswordtember

A huge scaled up scalpel. The blade is hollowed out and the haft is two parallel bars with diagonal reinforcements that have rubber grips on them. There is a blade release handle on the side of the blade receiver.

The background is a brown to blue gradient of webbing over a fleshy red and black mass.

Swordtember 2026: 12-Inversion

Did it look ridiculous? Yes.
Did it work? Surprisingly well.
Would she rather use ABSOLUTELY ANY other weapon? ...Yes.

A sword where the hilt is extremely long and sharpened, and the blade is short and rounded to be used as the grip.

The 'Blade' is made of a shiny metal and leaf shaped rounded nicely to be quite comfortable to hold.

The 'Hilt' i long and segmented 7 times. made of wood with brass spacers and a blued steel 'Pommel piece'

The crossguard is simple with flared drooping quillions also made of the blued steel.

The background is splashes of rich colors as though splats of paint.

A one handed sword, wide and industrial looking. Sharp only on one side, it's blued blade has a bunch of small holes at the end near the point.

At the base of the blade lies a mechanical contraption consisting of a vial port, a retaining cage for the vial, and a large lever to pull on.

The cross piece is a simple drooping knuckle guard on the blade side and the pommel is a crescent with a pyramid inside it.

The background is a river of crimson with disturbing ripples on a featureless black.

A long, thin blade with a hand and a half grip.

Embedded in the base of the blade is a simplified silver eye (basically a diamond cutout with a ring implying an iris)

The background is a writhing mass of vine-like green and white lines.

Swordtember 2026: 09-Fractal

This unique weapon is the result of a mistake by an enchanters apprentice. They were supposed to practice a simple replication spell on a weapon, but only seemed to replicate the cutting edge.

#art #my_art #swordtember_2026 #Swordtember #rbswordtember

A katar in silvery metal. The blade of the katar has edges that branch into edges that branch into edges multiple times so it seems a nest of sharp points.

The grip is light wood with copper bands.

The background is various red rectangles packed at random on black.

Considering what happened, I can only assume her husbands middle name was 'Letter'…

The background is a scrambled and warped pattern of small purple dots. Red is dripping from the top like blood.

Inevitability:
A cursed claymore that subjects all struck by it to an accelerated form of the rot afflicting the blade.

No matter how much of the sword rots away it still cuts with its full length and weight.

G pen now. It's much easier and feels more natural, though I don't want to give up on the brush.
I don't think I would do the hair this way again, but I wanted to see how it would turn out.
