#LFF - WILDWOOD

The hype is real, folks: this stop-motion masterpiece is an extraordinary technical feat that combines Narnia-esque worldbuilding with Laika's extraordinarily mature storytelling, culminating in a truly epic climax worthy of Lord of the Rings. Pure magic!

Travis Knight’s #WILDWOOD is a rare gem of cinema. This stop-motion animated gem delivers a heartfelt, poignant & heroic story captured in glorious animation.

With its impressive voice cast, breathtaking visuals and often hilariously witty moments, it’s an instant classic. #LFF

OMG!

#Wildwood is a fantastic stop animation movie that has it all.

Fun, action, drama, emotion, tragedy and violence all go into a script that delivers everything wrapped in a terrific bow.

Travis Knight has created something that is Oscar Worthy and is a must see.

#Primetime is a worthy drama and a good watch that, despite great acting performances and a shocking narrative, feels slightly empty.

The ending feels flat and hits us too quick while we want to discover what happened after the events.

Still good though.

Primetime (dir. Lance Oppenheim)

Equal parts unnerving as it is genuinely captivating, Lance Oppenheim pulls out all the stops to deliver a demented, fever dream-like exploration of one of TVs most controversial show, all while Pattinson gives a career best performance from start to finish. #LFF

Wildwood (dir. Travis Knight)

This film is nothing short of astonishing. The characters and world feel so fleshed out and alive while the animation itself pushes the boundaries of what most would think stop motion is capable of. Easily one of the year’s best films by a country mile. #LFF

Wildwood: Peyton Elizabeth Lee ventures into a magical Oregon forest when dowager Carey Mulligan steals her baby brother in Laura's hugely ambitious animation. Maybe slightly overlong, but an astonishing technical achievement and captivating storytelling. Their best film since ParaNorman. #LFF

Just sat down for my first film at this year's London Film Festival, the World Premiere of Wildwood. This has been at the top of my most anticipated list since it was first announced several years ago. Going to be a great start to the festival #lff #lff2026 #londonfilmfestival #wildwood #laika

Film #3 of #LFF was PAPER TIGER - the true start of the festival for me. Beautifully and artfully shot, it's an American crime drama by way of Greek tragedy - all quiet acts of sacrifice and bitter ironies. Adam Driver is superb as Gary - all winks and swagger until he recognises his own doom.
