Orsopelta's Island is home to a population of raptors most closely related to the Unenlagiinae, Paravians whose role in the environment most closely matches that of modern Herons. This male, who Orsopelta calls Goober, is one such raptor.

Here is my great blue #heron from last week. It's the look...I'm hearing "I'm too sexy for my shirt/ too sexy for my shirt/ so sexy it hurts" 🎶

Facing the camera is a tall heron with a gray to white to black front-side. The wings and legs are dark gray, the bill has a yellow lower mandible and a dark gray upper. The head is white with a black/navy blue cap. His/her head is cocked and withdrawn to give a demure appearance. Flowers and logs fill the scene of reflective, green, pond waters.

Woolly clouds in the sky are reflected in the still water of the lake, while on the shoreline green plants turn golden in the sunset. A great blue heron is nearly hidden amongst the cloud reflections & water plants, towards the center of the picture.
