@sringsmuth.bsky.socialI dunno...maybe I'm just out of touch? I don't mean this with any sarcasm or snark, but none of these AI features in #MacOS27 #GoldenGate sound useful or even slightly compelling for me personally. At all. The thing is, I wish they did. But...nope.
@exovoomnia.bsky.socialThe ancient trees lift their green crowns into the blue,
while the lake keeps their shadows like a secret.
Here, even time grows roots,
and the earth seems to whisper
that beauty does not pass.
It deepens.

@slyvorg.social.vivaldi.net.ap.brid.gySo I have Siri off. Why am I getting these insipid reply suggestions? I can't find any configuration setting to disable them.

@1dan.bsky.socialAsk you ye shall receive! A CUPS administration app to replace the CUPS web interface that was removed in #MacOS 27 #goldenGate.
@1dan.bsky.socialWith the demise of the CUPS web interface in #MacOS 27 #goldenGate, here are aa couple of terminal commands to partially fill the void. lpadmin and lpstat. Add a "--help" after each for a full list of options.

@slyvorg.social.vivaldi.net.ap.brid.gyLooks like this Tahoe trick still works in Golden Gate:
defaults write -g NSConvolutionOverride1 -float 10
This sets app window corner radii to the Sequoia appearance :blobcheer:
20 is the Golden Gate value
26 gets you Tahoe
@dreikelvin.bsky.socialInstalled MacOS27? Great! Good release. Don't forget to do this:
Reinstall Rosetta. Open Terminal, enter:
softwareupdate -install-rosetta

@tillheilmann.infoThe new icon for Preview in #GoldenGate must be the most ugly I have ever seen on any version of #macOS.
@slyvorg.social.vivaldi.net.ap.brid.gyAll that said, so far Golden Gate actually does feel a little snappier to me than Sequoia. We’ll see how much of that is just clean caches, etc. but no complaints on performance at first blush.
@slyvorg.social.vivaldi.net.ap.brid.gyNot a fan of the new Trash icon, either. It looks like a Japanese crepe, with ゴミ filling 😒
I've never seen a trashcan that narrow; either skeuomorphism or not, there is no try.
@slyvorg.social.vivaldi.net.ap.brid.gyAll versions of macOS after Sequoia are fake news.
