Why is Shakespeare more popular abroad than in the UK?

Seven years ago I was thinking about this.

Today, I still don't have any answers, but the same frustrations remain.

Here’s pic from the depths of my phone. Feels like a million years ago, a different life; an early afternoon with my x in the back yard of our home. Cigarettes, cappuccinos, (he found an espresso machine at goodwill!) and later, alcohol. Beer for him, Gin & Tonic for me (preferably Hendrix). This was our routine. (Might have actually been a random Sunday, come to think of it).

I haven’t had a cappuccino, a cigarette, or a sip of alcohol in years… or talked to my ex…

Anyway, I like the composition (I can’t remember if I set it up or just noticed it and reached for me camera), so I thought I’d share before the coffee hits and get my wits about me.
