This #FossilFriday is brought to you by the #Ediacaran animals of #Newfoundland. The oldest staurozoan cnidarian #Mamsetia manunis, its younger better preserved cousin #Haootia quadriformis and the 551 Ma stem #ctenophore #Edrathina obditchia alongside the candidate poriferans Thectardis & Lydonia.
#FossilFriday Allosaurus is one of the few extinct predators with direct evidence of combat between it and its prey; the three fossils below show evidence of predation or attempted predation on adult Stegosaurus (explanation in alts).

This young Albertosaurus would've been able to find food well on its own and shifted diet/niche with age. In this respect, I guess you could say it was more like say, Epomis larvae, baby crocodilians, or predatory tadpoles than baby mammals. #FossilFriday
Shout out for Megalosaurus drawn by Mary Morland for William Buckland this #FossilFriday just discussed by Emma Nicholls @morethanadodo.bsky.social et al on In Our Time #BBCRadio4 #hoggroup

Some of Jake's recent finds include this rarer Chimaera tooth plate and newly prepped ammonite! (2/2)
Two million years ago, the North Sea lapped over much land where East Anglia now lies. It left sandy, gravelly, fossilly sediments of the Norwich Crag Formation.
Some lovely fossils have been found in the Waveney valley.

#FossilFriday Jane Austen might be the most accomplished writer commemorated in Winchester Cathedral but her black Carboniferous limestone memorial stone lacks obvious fossils, unlike the neighbouring gravestone for Richard Littlehale which contains syringoporid corals.
This week for #Fossilfriday we have another #Guess that #Lego #Fossil.
This one I would rate as easy. This theropod is from North America.
Reply your guess and I will post the answer tomorrow (and to anyone who guesses correctly).
