No color at all - and that's the trick. Doré's engraving of Jacob seeing Rachel at Laban's well works entirely in ink-black and paper-white: high contrast that reads as tension, not calm. Fine art print available at meisterdrucke.com #art #GustaveDore #Engraving #BiblicalArt #meisterdrucke

Black and white engraving by Gustave Doré depicting the biblical scene of Jacob seeing Rachel at the well of Laban's home. A woman in flowing robes balances a water jug on her shoulder while standing beside a stone well; in the background a shepherd sits among a flock of sheep beneath a dramatic, cloud-filled sky. The composition relies entirely on fine engraved linework and ink-black to paper-white contrast, with no color, from the illustrated Doré Bible.
