DESCRIPTION: A local legend from Folklore, has been around since America was first discovered of a strange animal living in the wild, known as a ‘Jackalope’.

Described as a Jackrabbit with deer antlers that is said to be extremely shy, and can run up to 90 miles per hour, and is even said to mimic sounds.

Some claim to have captured Jackalope’s and mounted their heads on walls. But there is little evidence of the animal existing and has lead to be a hoax. But the common explanation could be that of the ‘Shope papilloma virus’ giving rabbits tumours that look like they have horns on their heads.

DESCRIPTION: High in the snowy mountains of the Himalayas, there is said to live a creature from folklore, known as the ‘Yeti’.

The Yeti or sometimes called the ‘Abominable Snowman’ is said to be a bipedal hairy ape like beast, standing at around 8-10 ft tall, with large feet and sometimes having fangs. It’s fur colour ranges from red, brown, grey to white (though white is a common misconception).

Origins of the Yeti date back to Buddhist Mythology, describing them as shy, solitary and peaceful creatures, but in recent times reported sightings of the Yeti have risen, leading to searches for it, but only foot prints in the snow, to bones and fur have been discovered. While there have been no official captures of the Yeti, and things like fur could be from Bears, leading some to believe it’s a hoax. But some say it might exist, and some point to it being related to the extinct ape species, Gigantopithecus. It is one of the many hairy humanoids sighted around the world.
