#SenecaVillage, in #NewYorkCity, was a vibrant community of free #Black Americans and Irish & German #immigrants. In 1857 the city seized it all through #EminentDomain and evicted everyone there, finishing the process on #ThisDayInHistory, and built #CentralPark open its bones.
