Second notebook done!
#bookbinding
I've seen rat and cat paw prints, this is the first time I see earthworms used to make patterns on a #bookbinding.
I realized in the morning I forgot to add literally any tags to this post 🤦♂️

I rustled up a prototype on Sunday for some slim #19thcentury journals. It seemed to work well!
The laid paper came from offcuts from a pamphlet, the bookcloth is a leftover piece, & the marbled paper is by Jemma Lewis Marbling from Quince & Quill
On to making the 11 others!
What's the #bookbinding term for the cross-section through the pages opposite to the book's spine, and top & bottom?
I like 60s & 70s paperbacks where these sections are dyed. Yellow on DAW SF. What's the one with the turquoise dye?
Giving burnishing a go. This is a process in applying beeswax to, in this case, marbled papers to give it a smooth finish, makes the colours pop, & makes it a bit waterproof!
This #historical reproduction #marbledpaper made by Victoria Hall will be used on some new C18th journals.
First bookbinding project done! Made a notebook with an integrated dnd character sheet
My spouse bought a magic the gathering secret lair drop a while back called Secret Lair x Global Fund For Women: Their Magic is Limitless. I thought the art on the package was so pretty that I cut it out and put it into a book cover.

An exposed spine journal. No it's not coptic. Just a faux one haha.

Fixed the broken spine on my Dad’s thesis; good for another 90 years now. #architecture #Liverpool #bookbinding.
Here I was thinking that making a video game diary would make gaming easier and more fun
No
The pressure of having to journal perfectly is an obstacle to gaming
Some of the hand printed notebooks I’ve made over the last year. I mostly make these for fun, and will usually include them as freebies on larger orders. Is it too soon to start sending out pumpkins?
I put together some of my manuscript finds pertaining to how manuscripts are made, as opposed to their contents.

Only as I finished gluing down the paper did I notice how I'd completely fucked up this case, can you see it?
To add insult to injury this nice marbled paper cost more than $30 a sheet plus shipping XD

My shift in research focus to #medievalstudies won't stop my work in #bookbinding or #woodworking it's just an adjustment. I am still working out the scheduling for research and projects. Shop work unexpectedly came to a grinding halt last week but should be resuming in a few days.
