These types of lawsuits will not be allowed under #BAAJA. This is what @heinrich.senate.gov @whitehouse.senate.gov, Capito and Lee are taking from communities. @hickenlooper.senate.gov @bennet.senate.gov @schumer.senate.gov VOTE NO on the entire bill. Start over.

#BAAJA "would also hamstring states and Tribes from using another Clean Water Act authority to protect their waters from spills and contaminated runoff from oil and gas pipelines."

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 8, 2026, 8:41 PM

Goldfuss on #BAAJA backer assertions that the Trump administration would respect its all-of-the-above energy neutrality: "Accepting that outcome would require me to disregard what is happening in plain sight and once again trust that market forces alone will enable clean energy to prevail."

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 8, 2026, 8:41 PM

@nrdc.org ED Christy Goldfuss brutally critiques #BAAJA: "We have repeatedly accepted modeling and analysis in the past that showed clean energy would prevail, which is why we accepted compromises that gave the fossil fuel industry another leg up in the system that is already rigged in its favor."

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 8, 2026, 7:49 PM

it's fucking criminal what Heinrich & Whitehouse's #BAAJA will unleash on Louisiana

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 8, 2026, 1:29 PM

#BAAJA has a provision that permanently locks in projects through changes in administration, which could (in theory) help some Biden-approved offshore wind projects but will DEFINITELY allow the lock-in of a zillion Trump-approved mining and fossil-fuel and hyperscaler depredations

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 8, 2026, 2:14 AM

just caught up on the @bradplumer.bsky.social @nytimes.com coverage of #BAAJA, this sentence is flat wrong: "Two preliminary modeling efforts estimate that the reforms would, on balance, reduce the nation’s planet-warming greenhouse gases while lowering consumer costs."

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 8, 2026, 1:29 AM

#BAAJA supporters include:
U.S. Oil & Gas Association
American Gas Association
Interstate Natural Gas Association of America

@sierraclub.org warns that #BAAJA "would create immediate benefits for oil and gas companies during a period of unprecedented growth in oil and gas infrastructure and record-breaking industry profits, while communities stand to lose critical protections for clean air, water, and wildlife."

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 7, 2026, 3:48 PM

@whitehouse.senate.gov @epw.senate.gov just sent out a press release highlighting the support for #BAAJA from Club for Growth, U.S. Oil & Gas Association, National Mining Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Koch front groups like Americans for Prosperity and Pacific Legal Foundation #dirtydeal

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 7, 2026, 12:58 PM

Yes I'm talking #BAAJA.

Celebrating hyperscaler accelerationism

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 7, 2026, 11:38 AM

@fisherdanar.bsky.social on the #BAAJA dirtier deal: "We are living through another moment where the Democrats are prepared to bind clean energy growth to the expansion of fossil fuels in the US."

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 7, 2026, 2:10 AM

Their support for #BAAJA makes @ceresorg.bsky.social's purported "work to reverse nature and biodiversity loss" an unfunny joke

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 6, 2026, 11:02 PM

So much destruction is on tap. Will clear a lot of land for fracking infrastructure and hyperscalers. #baaja

@climatebrad.hillheat.comOct 6, 2026, 8:22 PM

"Hello I'm putatively the leading Democratic elected official for climate action, it's a month out from the 2026 election, I'm proud to announce my collaboration with the American Petroleum Institute and the White House Energy Dominance Council" - @whitehouse.senate.gov #BAAJA

@weact4progress.bsky.social, the campaign arm of the @usprogressives.bsky.social, is strongly opposed to #BAAJA

Link to call senators:

secure.ngpvan.com/IMfeKPTji0e8...

For months, oil and gas companies and tech giants have lobbied Congress to weaken the rules that stand between their next project and your community. Now, Senate negotiators have reportedly reached a “permitting reform” deal that could be rushed through before recess.

Contact your senators NOW. Tell them: VOTE NO on this “permitting” deal.

This deal could gut the rules that protect the air your children breathe, the water your family drinks, and your right to have a say when a dangerous project is proposed next door. It threatens to let developers cut corners on checking for harm, sideline Tribal Nations and local communities, and make it harder to challenge harmful projects in court. Companies could get faster approvals while families lose the tools to protect themselves.

Communities already fighting pollution and massive data center projects could face even greater harm. Rural communities, low-income families, and communities of color have borne the costs of corporate corner-cutting for generations. Congress must stop asking them to pay with their health.

Tell your Senators: Reject this deal. Put communities over corporate interests.

In solidarity,
- PCAF

I am going insane that I have to waste my time pointing out the ecocidal stupidity of Manchin-Barrasso 2.0 instead of getting the vote out for the midterms

We @cclusa.org are proud to endorse the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act #BAAJA

"For too long, an outdated and inefficient permitting system has slowed the clean energy projects and transmission infrastructure we need to cut emissions and build a cleaner, more reliable energy system."
