We open with a pair of hunters finding something in the woods...namely Hakaider's DARK goon squad. And because this group is actually DARK, they gotta kill the hunters to keep it a secret.

Not a bad start. It's obvious that they did have a bigger budget for some things, for others...looks, I'll just say "The 70's." it's still early Toku, but it looks like the flaws of the original series were taken care of mostly here. #AndroidKikaider01

01 gets Akira back, blows up the DARK (Again, let's be honest) base, and our reporter realizes he forgot to fill the camera. Waw, waw, waaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwww. #AndroidKikaider01

A reporter from earlier that just happened to stumble into the fight just happened to FIND THE HAKAIDER BASE and witnesses the battle first hand...and yes, he's gonna be the Hanpen of the series. #AndroidKikaider01

Well, turns out the old lady thing is a disguise and under it was a babe!

But before we can look at her for a few more minutes, DARK (That's who these guys really are, let's be honest) yoinks Akira from the beach. #AndroidKikaider01

Turns out the woman screaming was the old lady from earlier as Hakaider Blue tosses her around, leading to the first one one one fight. #AndroidKikaider01

Our hero notices Akira has three holes in his back that form a triangle...but before he can inquire more about it, he hears a woman screaming in the distance as we see what's on his back is part of a circuit map! #AndroidKikaider01

Ok, I wanna stress that I'm not trying to be an asshole, I'm just calling out like I see it. While I don't think it was in the budget for the functionality of the suit to have one more go, it at least looks good and does give the same feel as the OG show. #AndroidKikaider01

I'll give the new outfit this, I think this time the suit actor can actually SEE where he's supposed to fight. #AndroidKikaider01

So, turns out Dark...eh, not that dead. Somebody put Gil's brain in the main Hakaider's body...and repeated the process with DARK's top scientists for the other three.

...why not do it before? Having a good guy's brain in the bot caused problems, so...why not this? #AndroidKikaider01
