First bird of my day: alllll the jackdaws chattering as they swelled in a black plume from a single tree. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

A jet lagged reply after missing a couple of days. Pigeons at the bus station as I line up for the sky bus back to the station. Wishing you well, Hannah. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: my crow. Only bird I have seen today, and not in the morning either. This is me posting my first bird right now (still unwell!) #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

First bird of my day: a peel of jackdaws bursting from the church tower across a dappled sky. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

I’m wandering the grounds of a churchyard in Kirkby Lonsdale and Merlin just can’t keep up with all the birdsong. Jackdaws first seen, squabbling on the church tower, blackbirds, robins, wrens, blue and great tits also seen. Back home tomorrow. Wish I could stay longer😊 #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: Greater spotted woodpecker flying in its see-saw motion to a horse chestnut tree. Very exciting. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

A chaffinch, robins and blackbirds down by the river bank. It’s like having a full English breakfast here near Bewcastle. #Firstbirdoftheday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: wood pigeon lying down comfortably on the roof under the blue sky, looking down at the quiet road. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

A small group of chaffinches, robins in the little wood, a couple of blackbirds down by the river bank and a buzzard over the field on my early morning walk down the lane. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

A chaffinch was heard as I ventured outside on this cold and drizzly morning in Cumbria. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: a whole tree of jackdaws bursting out and up and over in a chatter. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

Jackdaws yet again, a couple of crows and a pigeon, cunningly disguised as another jackdaw with its dark greyish black feathers. Only the walk gave it away, that and the iridescent feathers on the breast. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: my crow in the rain honking. The usual. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

The jackdaws are following me around. Woke up to them this morning in my little room in Ambleside. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: jackdaws on the roof, sunning themselves. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

I can see jackdaws, almost at eye level, on the chimney of the old house across the road from this rather grand hotel I’m staying in. Damp and melancholic outside, enough to make me want to stay in bed instead of walk around the village as planned. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours

First bird of my day: blackbird in the rain with a robin singing nearby. I love birdsong in the autumn, it’s a final flourish after a melancholy August. Does anyone feel the same? #firstbirdsofmyday #whatsyours

@ukulady.bsky.socialSep 14, 2026, 7:13 AM

I can hear blue tits and robins and get up to see a flurry of activity in the large tree just outside my bedroom window. #Firstbirdofmyday #Whatsyours
