Good morning. Cloudy with buts of blue. Still. 13C.

I managed to capture sun up for #photooftheday this morning. I was at the beach in my jammies, but thankfully no one else was about!

The beautiful beach at Achmelvich, just three miles north-west of Lochinver in Sutherland and one of Scotland's very best beaches: or more accurately a small collection of beaches nestled amongst the rocky bays and headlands here. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Achmelvich. The image shows a view across a bay that faces left out to sea. There is grass and white sand in the foreground with rocks beyond, then an arc of pure white sand being lapped by a turquoise sea that shades to dark blue further across the bay. This was across the road from Ardvreck Castle in Sutherland. Places with waterfalls, and running water have a special energy, this place being no different. The landscape holds a myriad of memories, water holds memories, deep and unrelenting.
