@bananapi.bsky.social@optimcloud.bsky.socialOpenWiFi covers OpenWiFi. Xmidt covers RDK-B.
Every open project in this space manages the stack it was born in, so an
operator with a mixed fleet still ends up with several. We built the one that
does not care what the device runs.

@optimcloud.bsky.socialAether is a wireless management platform that replaces seven fragmented stacks
with one.
WiFi, mesh, RAN, IoT, security, analytics and OSS/BSS — one device list, one
API, one control plane, whatever the vendor shipped on the hardware.
@mxremy.todon.eu.ap.brid.gyI just set up an #OpenWRT One in my library's makerspace, so we could have all the machines on their own little network. Any suggestions for what else I should run on it? It's only got a gig of RAM, and definitely needs some external storage added too. I was thinking SyncThing?
@optimcloud.bsky.socialOne control plane, whatever the vendor shipped.
OpenWrt and QSDK run our agent. RDK-B, prplOS and OpenSync already speak their
own protocol — Aether terminates what is on the device rather than asking you
to reflash a fleet.
Same device list either way.
@optimcloud.bsky.social@optimcloud.bsky.socialAether now manages devices that aren't access points.
MQTT ingest + LwM2M/CoAP, both shipped. Sensors, camera events, Zigbee via a
bridge — same device list as your routers.
Control plane, not media plane: we broker the stream URL, never hold it.
