On Sretensky Boulevard, someone raises a phone to eye level. The blur conceals the details. Only the gesture remains: a person attempting to preserve something. Fed Micron does not yet know what that something is. Not yet. Series: Variations on a Theme "...with a Film Across Moscow" Location: Sretensky Boulevard, Moscow Photo taken: April 6, 2018 Film format: 35mm half-frame Camera: Fed Micron (ā„–8110014) Film: Lucky SHD 100 New Black & White (expired, expiration date unknown) Developer: Xtol Scanner: Noritsu LS-1100 Every photograph preserves memory while simultaneously becoming someone else's memory. A person took out a phone. The phone took out an image. The image had not arrived yet. So everyone waited for the second frame. The answer turns out to be surprisingly simple. On the other side of the lens stands the monument to Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov. History, bronze, and public memory become the subject of another photograph. A curious chain emerges: the monument watches the city, the passerby photographs the monument, and the film photographs them both.
