Translation: "We want to make rules so we know how to break them and keep AI sounding scary for the FOMO."

They "want regulation" so they can be sneaky about their snake oil. Proof: They hate the EU's regulations.

Oh the irony. #flockoff

Like many other cities, the Syracuse Common Council replaced Flock’s automated license plate readers (ALPRs) with Axon’s.

Our chapter is filing public records requests to learn about the new contract with Axon, as well as to learn about ICE abductions in our city. #FlockOff #DeFlock

I hear there's a single bitcoin hidden in a flock camera somewhere in the US. Like Willy Wonka's golden ticket. If you find it you get to keep it. Spread the word.

Fun fact of the day, a Flock camera has as much platinum inside as a catalytic converter. Tell your local "scrap collectors."

Today, ALX is focused on Flock ALPRs.

But simple City Council questions and requests to APD are getting ignored, per @alexandriabrief.com’s reporting.

This pattern won’t end with ALPRs, unless we demand change.

Follow for updates on how other cities have fixed this issue.

Mass surveillance is serious … about contributing to the Sunday funnies.

(FYI - @thezebraalexandria.bsky.social this is a good example of how to actually tackle this topic with levity…)

We’ve got 3 different answers to one simple question: how many surveillance cameras does ALX have? The Mayor first asked in June 2025 — there’s still no clear answer.

Reformed policy isn’t enough. We need a reformed process with real public input on ALX surveillance tech.
