Ed said he needed this job as spokesperson, as the economy hit him hard too. Well, he’s making up for being out of the limelight, it seems. For while humans apparently can’t see what‘s coming, Mister Ed shows off quite an animal’s instinctive knowledge. He sees clearly: far into the past and into the immediate future. And he’s fed up and won’t be shut up, taking especially the “filthy rich” to task. Apparently animals know a lot more about humans than we do about ourselves. While our comeuppance is not pretty (that horse has quite the mouth on him — you’d never have gotten that from the show! and a rather gruesome imagination), it is not all humans he condemns. Given a chance, I betcha he’d bring back unions.

Amazingly, in addition to migratory animals like sea turtles, this includes fruit flies and even some forms of bacteria. Some snakes can detect infrared light. Bees can detect ultraviolet light. As for plants, you thought them dumb? What scientists have discovered is that, amazingly, some have a sensitivity to touch that is finer and more sophisticated as what we have with our fingers; that they communicate with each other, including about a possible threat from a new pest and overcrowding and other matters. They have hormones similar to our own. That not enough, they have vision, all of them. What is the world as experienced by a plant? On what basis do we say that our world is better or closer to apprehending reality than theirs? Furthermore, what of species whose senses, as nearly as we can determine with our own, are vastly different from ours, such as a mantis shrimp, which have sixteen different types of color receptive cones compared to our mere three. What of species with less in number than ours? What is the “world” of an earthworm like? What, that of an amoeba? Real world, please step forward.

DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS II Page xxviii …volumes and all the prior ideas which — one by one — were used to pry back the boards upon which we stand which unthinkingly create our arbitrary platform within Reality. The culmination and purpose of this entire journey approaches its fruition here. In this third book of Dance of the Seven Veils, then, we look at the last Veil, which has to do with our peri-conceptional experiences. That is to say, the experiences around conception. Peri-conception extends back to our emergence into Form with the creation of ovum, first, and then sperm. It continues with the actual events of the coming together of ovum and sperm at conception. It passes on into the events of the fertilized egg, the blastosphere, of implantation, and finally, of early embryonal existence. We find the deepest imprints on our human reality here, peri- conceptionally. Hence it is our first, our deepest, our initial Veil across our ultimate identity as Divinity and our experience in the No-Form State. This Seventh Veil — the first reduction from Cosmic Awareness, the first cookie cutter on the dough of our physical reality — establishes our physical world, in many ways. We find here the creation of duality as perceived in the world, of thing and no-thing, of self and other, of forward and backward. We discover here the philosophical basis of our human reality. These are the things we believe, without any doubt. It will require the removal of all the preceding and overlying Veils to have a chance to grok what is to be gotten here. For at this point we border on the truly astounding and mind-blowing.

PREFACE Page xx …worthy of one’s efforts and attention in life. Similarly, it shines a light on proper and harmful ingredients in child-caring, so it would be invaluable to any parent. Most of the material in the foregoing has been included in other works. Specifically, they are Prodigal Human, Planetmates, Psychology of Apocalypse, Dance of the Seven Veils I, and the forthcoming (expected sometime in 2021) Back to the Garden. I have focused on this topic somewhat in Wounded Deer and Centaurs, as well, where I related it to the changing personality structures coming of postmodern times and their relation to pre- and perinatal influences, the environmental crisis, and activism. Others of my books have traveled through this terrain at times, too. Nonetheless, it seemed a good idea to bring all this material together around this theme of Identity, to re-slant them, and to see what would come of it. The issue of who to be is one of the primary concerns of humans; it is vitally important to address it now and at this time in history with the stakes so high and the need to bring forth a new vision of who to be in line with what we need if we are to survive patriarchy, environmental collapse, and the rising worldwide fascism coming up as a direct reaction to the fear come of multiculturalism, identity loss, and identity confusion.

The dispersants themselves are toxic. But the much bigger crime was to make sure the even more toxic oil — which depletes the oxygen in the water and thus creates the dead zones — would be spread far and wide throughout the global water. Good for BP shares looking like they could fix it; bad for survival of oxygen-breathers on Earth. Thus, BP’s egregiously criminal move was the equivalent of sweeping dirt under the rug to make it go away. Unfortunately, there is no “away” in which it can “go.” Therefore we have, in this incident alone, precipitated greatly the dying off of the life of the oceans — the oxygen-producing plankton — and, hence, the basis of all life on this planet. To this ravaging of the lungs of the planet add worldwide runaway deforestation, already in full swing. I am practically choking as I think how we then stink up the air with industrial emissions and auto exhausts. To the dangers bringing on our demise we need to add globally increasing air pollution. Environmentally also, we have the greenhouse effect — global climate change or warming — the depletion of the ozone layer, and so on. Bioculturally Constituted Realities How are bioculturally constituted realities defined? Well, they are cultural facts that exist because of the common biology we as a species share, each and every one of us. These are facts that are relative to the pain and pleasure humans experience and the way and degrees in which we experience them. These are facts relative to the birth and death humans experience and the ways we experience and construe them. These are facts relative to the life cycle and stages of life that are uniquely human and the ways we experience and understand and configure them. Thus, these common biological things and events are facts for the species we call human — they are biologically constituted realities for humans — for they are shared by all humans. Yet they are perceived, construed, interpreted, configured, manifested, acted out, dealt with, responded to, and created around differently by each and every culture, at least slightly differently. We see examples of this feelings constellation — that is, BPM I — coming out in films, as well. The movie, Avatar, is set on another planet, whose environment is a near-perfect depiction of a BPM I state. Remember, this state during early womb life is one of uninterrupted and oceanic bliss, contentment, harmony, which is interrupted by the later stages of pregnancy and, again, when forced to endure a mechanized- technological birth. Everything is there in the movie just as in the womb state: There is a perfect harmony with Nature, including the existence of a World Tree symbolizing the life-giving placenta ... meaning harmony with the Mother, who is the World Mother, a Goddess. However, BPM I heaven ends. Much like in Avatar where paradise is spoiled by attacking forces, we also in the womb grow bigger and eventually get to the point where we no longer have a sense of free- floating bliss, we feel more and more hemmed in. We feel attacked by an outside world — our mother’s body in the womb and later a mechanized birth ... represented by the military forces and weapons in Avatar. Eventually we feel claustrophobic and no-exit feelings which ends the time of bliss. I will discuss that in the chapter after next, where we look at basic perinatal matrix II, BPM II. 46. This practice continues right up to modern times where we see, as some kind of goal or achievement, the control and orchestration of individuals and groups and their every tiny movement, every action, to be in “lock step” with others, with absolutely no individuality or non- conformity at all. Clearly we see this in boot camps, where they march in formation, stand at attention, frozen, only moving in a way that is in complete synchrony with the others in the group. In ways like this we are told we are nothing ... we are on the level of a tool, or a thing. It has its beginnings even with the marching to and from class in grade school ... to and from lunch ... to and from the lavatory.... Do not get out of line! We are told our lives only have value as determined and put into action by higher-ups. For only with such complete conformity, such machine-like regi- mentation, did Controllers feel that they could be safe from insurrection. Only with it could they feel that they could elicit actions from their subordinates in which the underlings would put their lives at risk for the ends of the elite. And yes, at that time, 1972, Nixon did defeat liberal George McGovern, which coincides with a conservative backlash; yet this only occurred after the well-known, the hugely popular Robert F. Kennedy, who had been surging toward the Democratic nomination, had been assassinated earlier in the year.
