Genesis with their first American hit, “Follow You Follow Me”. They of course went on to enormous success, both as the band and as splinters. #sts70s

Don McLean with “Castles In The Air”. This hit the Hot 100 twice in America, in 1972 and Top 40 in 1981. It’s one of my favourite songs of his, largely because it is relatively underplayed. We all know what gets the lion’s share… #sts70s

Castles In The Air by Don Mclean on #STS70s

Not the comedian. #sts70s

Castles In The Air is by miles the best thing Don McLean ever did - and possibly my #SOTN. I love this song. #sts70s

Asylum by Gary Numan on #STS70s shout out for @Paulie9461

Gary Numan 'Asylum' is the hidden track on side 2 of 'Heroes' 😉 #sts70s

Stevie Wonder, backed by The Jackson Five, with American chart leader “You Haven’t Done Nothin’”. It was his 4th American chart champion - if the Jacksons were credited it would have been their 5th. #sts70s

Status Quo with “Whatever You Want”, one of their best-known songs. In 2008 German stadium techno band Scooter made a remix with them called “Jump That Rock! (Whatever You Want)”. #sts70s

Asylum by Gary Numan ?

Now that *is* bold ...
