#SongsOfSeptember

The full title of my story is:

DEAD BEATS: A Eulogy for the American Dream.

What better music for such a story than Clarence Clemons playing the Star-Spangled Banner?

I have a lot of complicated feelings about my country, and this book is helping me process them.

Paradis by Wintergatan

This song feels like love and loss, closeness and distance, watching sunset together and drifting alone in a storm, being lost and finding yourself all wrapped into one song.

And that very much encapsulates all of TY4LM.

A soundtrack from one of the best man-on-the-run movies

Fits 'Master Watch' as well

#SongsOfSeptember Day 23

This is a track I considered for the "opening scene" question as well as the overall theme of the story.

"They Have Taken the One I Love" is an Armenian duduk composition by Levon Minassian.

This song speaks to my story as more than just fantasy vibes - Forest of the...

Gonna go for another piece by Chrome Canyon for Infinity Train. Epic, emotive, strange, sweeping. This is what I hope Dido on the Edge feels like.

I think this fits the overall tone of Jane’s story really well.

Beginning of the end - Alex Abraham, Steve Goldshein & Jeff Williams

I’m not a huge RWBY fan, but I’ve always liked the music, especially the background scores.

I've actually done a lot of instrumental tracks along this prompt game for Savage as You. So, let's do one for my upcoming novella, Vitrified. Maximum moody vibes for Helena, whose story is quite tragic. Failing even her beloved ...

#SongsOfSeptember Day 23

I don't listen to much in the way of purely instrumental music, so this is a little tricky. I'd probably go with Krotona Days by Rodrigo y Gabriela. It has their trademark driving rhythm, but there's a slightly fraught edge to it, which seems fitting to Unbroken's feel.

I'm gonna cheat a little bit, 'cause uh... I don't listen to a lot of instrumentals on a regular basis >.>'' But I feel like soft melody leading up to something stronger from the instrumental version of Glass Flower from Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X fits nicely~

#SongsOfSeptember Day 23

An instrumental song that you think fits your story's tone~ Or that fits a scene if you can't find one for the story overall :D

I'm going to be in a different timezone by tomorrow night, so I might post these a bit earlier the rest of the week. I'll have to see~

A card showing today's prompt. It has a rose on a music sheet in the background with a lilac hue, and a gray box in the middle shows the prompt. The title's at the top, and there are song lyrics at the bottom.

Day 23

An instrumental song that fits your story's tone

There are just music notes below the prompt.

I haven't begun to think about the sound scapes of Ganzer & Gyd Goedwyth. I think at some point I floated the idea of Eli playing piano but that really sounds more culturally appropriate to the faeries. Like wind demons probably got some kinda tubular marimba they play. #VoxMortis #SongsofSeptember

#SongsOfSeptember Okay, seeing this hit my timeline I cannot resist noting that a critical emotional hinge of the horror romance turns on... the Fugue for Tinhorns.

#SongsofSeptember Music is important in #VoxMortis bc it's partly a tribute to the music I grew up on (pop punk, metal) & the punk ideology I've grown into.

Gavin is the former guitarist of a FOB-MCR-like band who's started a punk band that sounds kinda like this:

I don't remember when I found this song but it jams, perfect for a climax methinks.

@lysanderish.bsky.socialSep 23, 2026, 3:58 AM

I feel like this one's pretty fitting for the climaxes of several of the arcs I have planned out. #VoxMortis #SongsofSeptember

A22. Wind and string instruments are important in the Sesina Empire, w piano/key instruments are newer and more reserved for high society folks.

...huh. i think I would like one. Not sure yet. But I will troubleshoot ideas.

Leaf reeds are something I want to research. Like, how does one fold a.leaf to make things whistle?

There is a lyre that is... More than meets the eye.

Virgil doesn't know any musicians though... Well, not anymore.

I'm sure this song choice by me is... coincidental.
