Had the wood and enjoyed the process so made a second one with a slight change with the amount of pegs and I think that works a lot better with the weight of it. You can see the difference the teak oil makes. Not bad for a small little project to space out the day. #woodworking

Second coat rack made and ready for oil. Once that’s all done I will be adding small dowels or screws to the back of each peg to just help make it little more secure for the long term and cut the keyhole joints to mount it to the wall. Both made from the same scrap finds so the price so far is pennies in glue and teak oil.

Needed to repair this #reclaimed 1930’s #vintage folding table. It was a trash find with a rotting cloth cover, but otherwise intact. I replaced the top with these slates and have used it ever since. Plus I can show off my awesome back yard. #restoration is the best. #woodworking #reducereuserecycle

My favourite ride was Joris en de Draak (George and the Dragon).

It's a wooden racing roller coaster with a water and fire side that race to the finish line.

It's the fastest of the park and I was fascinated by the wooden construction.

No airway bored so can't be used, plus made from cedar.

A very basic coat rack made in under 3 hours. Two bits of salved wood with a broom handle used to make the pegs sunk at an angle, a basic router on the trim to make it little nicer and first coat or Teak Oil with 2 more probably to go. #woodworking

Start of the coat rack with the peg holes cut with a forstner bit the same diameter of the pegs. The back I think was packing for a large appliance that was in a bin and the pegs are cut down from a broom handle that was also in a bin. It’s a nice dark colour compared to the back to get nice contrast with the woods A basic fluted decal on the edges with the router table to just make it bit more decorative then a block of wood. Sanded down to 180 grit and pegs glued in place, I may put small dowels in the back for each one just to make it a bit more strong but have to see they seem solid so far And with the first coat of teal oil applied it still drying so the slight sheen will dull when it dries. Going to see how up to 3 coats in all do to darken the wood. The last steps that dose need to be done is using the router and a key hole bit to make keyhole jigs to mount it to the wall and it’s a 2 minute job at the most.

This Ol' Man figure was my first attempt at carving faces. It's been floating around for a while and its awkward shape kept it from finding a proper home. Magnets, some stopped holes, and hide glue to the rescue! More carving projects coming soon.

If you know of anyone with a hardwood stump (preferably dried for a year) about 12" to 20" wide and around 36" tall, please let me know. Hardwood is better than softwood to hold a mosaic hardie. #Boise #art #woodworking #arborist
