Sorry to the #RedSox fans who were channeling their inner Ted Lasso to “BELIEVE” this team was remotely qualified to play postseason baseball (I’m
not convinced they’re qualified to play in the league, but you can’t be relegated here).

A lockout will be way better than 162 more with this 💩 team.

#RedSox Alec Gamboa made his postseason debut last night. Entered in the 7th inning and allowed each of the 4 batters he faced to reach base with 3 hits and a walk, recorded no outs.

I never would have guessed it would be THIS bad tonight. 🙁

#RedSox will sent Alec Gamboa out now to face #Yankees. Sort of a shame they can't run Erik Miller back out there.

Opponents this season vs Gamboa were 15-for-73 (.205) with 0 HR and .560 OPS from the right, 12-for-44 (.273) with 1 HR and .796 OPS from the left.

⭐️ This is the 4th time in #RedSox postseason history that they've allowed 8+ runs in back-to-back games. First time since October 19-20, 2021 in ALCS Games 4 and 5 vs #Astros.

Also happened in 2 games of 2017 postseason and in 3 straight games of the 2008 postseason.

Bright spot? Give me Sogie! He can go into the offseason feeling really good about himself.

Back in June Wilson Contreras got mad at Will Warren for pitching inside & then looking at him, then he called Warren an effing bitch causing the benches to clear. Now Warren is set to face him in the 8th inning where he has the lead 8-2 in an elimination game. Chefs kiss!

Is it even worth it too look at Crochet's outing with 16 pitches after months out? I just keep having nightmares of Minnesota and seeing this again doesn't help. #redsox

Home run for #RedSox Nick Sogard would have left 8 of the 30 #MLB ballparks.

Solo home run for #RedSox Nick Sogard came on a 84.8 MPH sweeper from #Yankees Will Warren. Spin rate was 3,158 RPM. Bat speed was 75.4 MPH.

Pitch was barreled at 102.6 MPH with a 24° launch angle. Estimated distance was 362 feet with an xBA of .720. #BarrelAlert

We just need Dave Roberts to pinch run 7 times. Go #RedSox

#RedSox Nick Sogard goes deep to make it a 6-run deficit vs #Yankees. First career postseason home run for Sogard who is 3-for-12 (.250) in 4 career postseason games.

Too little too late for that homer. #RedSox

HOME RUN! Nick Sogard

Solo HR off Will Warren

#Yankees turn it over to Will Warren now in relief vs #RedSox.

Opponents this season vs Warren: 65-for-269 (.242) with 10 HR and .718 OPS from the right, 94-for-341 (.276) with 11 HR and .787 OPS from the left.

July was a magical ride. But you hit a point when you realize this was not a team built for the big stage in October. Embarrassing to lose this bad to the Yankees in NY, but even more so that it’s happening for the 2nd consecutive year. Every single facet of this team failed this series. #RedSox

After 6 innings, #RedSox 1, #Yankees 8

Due next for BOS:
• Ceddanne Rafaela (groundout, flyout)
• Caleb Durbin (flyout, flyout)
• Nick Sogard (flyout, strikeout)
