#Quartz! Quartz! Quartz!

It’s interesting.

The vast majority of #MinCup26 campaigning is for #Quartz with just a handful for #Asagiite across platforms. Asagiite’s is mostly focused on novelty and aesthetics, while quartz’s supporters are covering physics, art, prehistory, utility, & more.

Yet the votes are near-tied.

I do have some lovely specimens of #Quartz, including this one I named Monster. I don’t know what that black stuff is, but it’s a coating, and I’ve done my best to scrub it off. #MinCup26

So I will end with this. Dr. D had some extremely valid facts, underscore, facts! about #Quartz s importance to us and our planet. So please take some time today and vote for #Quartz in #MinCup26 because, actually without #Quartz you wouldn't be able to do half the things you do in life.

Don't think you'd be watching the telly without #Quartz . It uses in construction...I believe we'd have alot less structures & not so many freeways. Most of you probably have it in your countertops! Being the 2nd most abundant mineral found here. I wonder what our planet would even look like?

Go, #Quartz, go!

Just under 8 hours left on the clock and the margin is shrinking. #Asagiite is leading by just 15 votes over #Quartz

So let's talk about #Quartz for a bit. We wouldn't have glass without it. Actually high grade #silica is in short supply. Pristine beaches washing away. #Quartz is highly instrumental in recording & keeping time. We wouldn't be able to date things without it's use in electronics of all types.

Vote quartz!

Many indigenous cultures have used quartz variously for vision quests, to store ancestor's memories, and to communicate with spirit guides.

Alchemists in mediaeval Europe thought quartz bridges physical and spiritual worlds.

Vote quartz!

In Japan it was believed clear quartz was the breath of a white #dragon! Elsewhere in Asia it was believed to be pure dragon's essence.

Pliny the Elder thought clear quartz was ice that had been frozen so long it became permanently frozen.

Sorry, no new mineral discoveries allowed. It's too much. I haven't even met all the previously discovered minerals. Future students of mineralogy are going to revile you if you don't admit the truth, quartz is everyone's favorite first confident & reliable love.

Be honest, vote #quartz

People don't realize just how important #Quartz is to the structure of our planet & all the wonderful things that it can actually "do" , how well it plays with others. It's not just another pretty face. Albeit #MinCup26 's picture of it is definitely not the most flattering they could have chosen.

Stunning! Vote #quartz!
