The "Naked Cowboy" in #minimal attire. This fine specimen of humanity can be seen bringing joy and frivolity to Times Square in the great city of New York.

Northern Fulmar, Shetland Islands, July 2026
#birds #originalcontent #photography 📷🪶

A Northern Fulmar flies over open water at an angle so that the full spread of the bird's wings is visible. The Northern Fulmar looks somewhat like a stocky gull, but is actually related to petrels and albatrosses. The head is white and the wings and tail are in patterned shades of gray. The bill is grayish with a yellow tip and, although they can't be seen clearly in this photo, there are two nasal tubes on top of the bill that the bird uses to sniff out prey over vast swaths of open sea.

#Thrushes (alt theme)

Wood Thrush, Smith Oaks Sanctuary, High Island, TX, April 2026.
#birds #originalcontent #photography 📷🪶

A wood thrush is shown perched at an angle on a small branch with its back to the camera and its head to the side. The photo was taken in a heavily wooded area so the lighting is on the moody side and the thrush's rusty head feathers take on a slight greenish tone from the dim light and heavy foliage. The dark eye is accentuated by a white eye ring. The face is black with white spots and the neck is white. The tail feathers are fluffed out.
