Real quiet now, aren’t we…

Watched the Sounders v SKC tonight to do a little scouting on SKC.
The main takeaway doesn’t give away the final score, etc. I’m mostly struck by how the Timbers’ soft patch keeps firming up.
Playing for a second chance for the rest of 2026, like a kid sprinting to the bus stop… #RCTID
That was very very Timbersy by SKC. #rctid
The good news: that was a very Timbersy giveaway by the Flounders.
The bad news: PTFC face Andre Luiz and this new style SKC next weekend. 😬
Watching Wales-Norway today. Wales’ first goal came from what KMiller does too frequently - receives ball central in transition, instead of turning upfield, pushes ball back towards goal where pressing opponent steals and scores. Fix this flaw alone and Timbers start posting Ws. #rctid
Given the gap, I plan on catching up on the Colorado result, doing one more grand reset (without a blog, somehow?), then tucking in for the home game v Charlotte, then getting on a semi-regular schedule from there (damn St. Louis game is the Wednesday after. We have lives, dammit!). #rctid
I just figured out that there aren’t any league games this weekend, but I do know SKC is next for Portland. On October 10.
Yeah, yeah, I’m getting there.
Fun fact, I’ll catch that one, then miss the next two games. Damn weddings, etc.
Just in time for the last four games… #rctid
“He’s tried. He’s huffed, he’s puffed, but he hasn’t really produced any moments of magic.”

Tell me you’re getting this down. This is GOLD! #rctid
So…Phil Neville did color commentary for Houston v SKC. Looks like he has a profile on the MLS/AppleTV website. #rctid
That's not counting Caicedo's injury struggles, nor Aravena's hip injury, or Surman's MCL sprain, or Bassett's ankle injury before the World Cup either. It's been a really bad year for medium to long-term injuries. #RCTID
The season began with Da Costa recovering from shoulder surgery. Fernandez and McGraw missed the first 14 games with long-term injuries. Mosquera and Bye won't be back until after the sprint season. Now Bonetig's shoulder surgery puts him out for the year. Just brutal. #RCTID
It’s a relief knowing the Timbros will not drop points this weekend. #rctid
The Timbers injury woes to end 2026 are unfortunately going to creep into the 2027 Sprint Season - Mosquera, Bye, and now Bonetig have timetables into next year. #RCTID
Timbers will partake in the Coachella Valley Invitational before the 2027 sprint season. #RCTID
Fourth consecutive season Portland participate in the largest MLS preseason tournament.
