Yeah, for a few high school writing competitions/showcases and a VERY BRIEF foray into slam poetry and like, yeah, no, I won’t be doing that again.
The writing was well received, I just hated the experiences.

I don't listen to spoken word much but Paul Cooper of the Fall of Civ podcast (no link cos that's embarassing) has a very relaxing voice.
Thanks for the prompt!
#PretendPanel The one dream voicecast I stand by w 10 toes down is Jeremy Irons for Prince Lucian 😅 The perfect pitch + timbre
And I have favorite audiobook narrators.
In a perfect world, I’d hire Lance West for Fealty Among Bastards & Harrison Knights for The Witch of Eden Hollow

Oh, for the love of god no! I have a very nasal Nottinghamshire accent. To myself. That's all.
#PretendPanel I read aloud my work during editing.
And I’ve also read aloud to friends! I actually did an 18+ dramatic reading of Raw and that was *really fun*
I read an excerpt of Fealty Among Bastards last night in a different server and I got friends INTERESTED?? Wow.
#pretendpanel
Yes, I have. On podcast interviews, and we had a fun live back in the days on the bird app reading sex filled snippets too. Here's an excerpt from my fantasy Khirion I posted on tiktok. Mind you, this is on the spot and without rehearsing.
Frequently! Reading the story aloud is my first editing pass, after the initial draft. Then I read it again to the live-in beta reader that I married to see if she vibes with it. Both steps are invaluable for picking up grammar errors and checking the scenes' cadence 😊
Hello #PretendPanel
I have indeed read my work out loud. I do it as part of the final preparations before publishing, and I've done live readings in front of an audience.
There's a section of Emma's Story that lends itself particularly well to being read out loud. :D
#PretendPanel
The last time I read my work aloud to anyone else was (probably) when I was at school! I’d love to do an author event/reading someday.
I read aloud to myself a lot. It helps me check flow and spot mistakes and areas for improvement I’d otherwise miss.
All the time when revising. It allows you to process it in a different way and spot things you might miss otherwise. If you mean in front of other people then yeah, on occasion. I wrote and performed a one person show back at uni which I still think was pretty all right.
#pretendpanel
Always.
Usually after the second draft is done, and before I send it to my alpha readers.
Yes I have #pretendpanel , though fewer times than I would have thought given how often I've been on stage. I've read short extracts of prose a couple of times, and taken part in poetry readings. It's not often that I've been in my own stage play, but I have done some voice work for my video games.
I wonder what the range of answers will look like today. Tell me, #pretendpanel ...
September 19th: Have you ever read your work aloud?
#PretendPanel 9/18
Honest to god, if I had the money, I’d be willing to poke @xycron.tv, the lad who does the majority of the Emkay, a reddit read channel, videos
He’s got a good overall voice, IMO
#PretendPanel I don't actually have this o:
When I win the lottery, I'll be paying exorbitant amounts of money to hire Jon Hamm (for Noah) and Ewan MacGregor (for Brett) to voice the audiobooks of my Novemberverse series. This will definitely happen. I need to start buying lottery tickets, but once I do the plan is foolproof.
I'll be honest, #PretendPanel... I stopped 'fangirling' a long time ago. I don't know names of voice actors. I barely know names of regular actors. I don't keep up with influencers. I pretty much see my projects as things that will solely be our responsiblity.

And for my most recent, Killer Kagami . . .
Well I don't know for all the main leads but I think for the sake of daydreaming
I'll go into the crossroads of time and pluck out Huge Myatt between seasons of Knightmare

God I'm such an old and one track minded millenial so riddled with hauntology that I thought you meant SEGA's console swansong
Right
Amnion is a one man show so; Paddy Considine as the Dweller
Lost Witness is an erotica so I wouldn't dreamcast so as not to fetishise anyone
