Here’s my story on the #NHLJets third exhibition game, a 2-1 OT loss to the #Oilers on Tuesday:

Jets prospect Alexandre Taillefer (2026 5th) had two assists (including this one on the GWG) for Quebec in his season debut. #NHLJets

While goal scoring is nice, Jets fans might also appreciate the hitting ability of prospect Noa Ta’amu (2026 7th round pick) as he levels an opponent with this check. #NHLJets

Appreciated Scott Arniel's reason for not telling me more about how the #NHLJets' PK tweaks:

"I can't give that to you because everybody reads what you're writing."

(😅🙃)

The #NHLJets will make a wave of cuts on Wednesday, getting down to one group of skaters.

Scott Arniel said they'll stop short of making the 23-man team -- they are doing PP and PK work on Thursday and want some extra bodies -- but they'll be getting close to final product.

#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel clarified post game that there were no video challenges allowed in tonight's preseason game. Joked it might have been a staffing issue in Toronto. That said, believes goal would have still counted. Contact came after puck was on its way in.

Edmonton gets the imaginary bonus point in overtime as they down the #NHLJets 2-1.

Officials miss a blatant too many men on the ice call on the winner.

Hey, it’s preseason for them too.

We’re headed to overtime here at CLC. #NHLJets and Edmonton tied 1-1 through regulation.

So glad to see everyone’s pal Fred Mislawchuk celebrated during tonight’s #nhljets game. Impossible to find a better (or more fun) teammate anywhere.

We’ll miss you in Winnipeg, Fred. All the best in retirement!

#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel this morning about Danny Zhilkin, who put on 10 lbs of muscle this summer: “Most guys when they put on weight, it just slows them down. But he hasn't gotten any slower."

Me, to Arniel: "Unlike us in the media."

He chuckled.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins wins a draw and Atro Leppanen squeaks a shot through Dom DiVincentiis... But was there goaltender interference on the play?

A long delay as the #NHLJets consider a challenge, then let it drop. 1-1.

Tie game. It looks like the #NHLJets were considering a coach's challenge for goalie interference for a second straight night -- they were successful last night -- but opt not to.

Zach Hyman looked to get a piece of the puck and goalie Dom DiVincentiis to make it 1-1.

#NHLJets open the scoring here at Canada Life Centre, as Alex Iafallo buries a puck that had been shot wide by a spinning Nino Niederreiter and came off the end boards right on to his stick.

Landon Ferraro is going to get major bonus points from me just for sounding like his dad. #NHLJets
