I play a lot of old games, and have a deep appreciation and admiration for them. There's a reason the hottest stuff on the indie scene is often low-poly or directly draws mechanics from the third generation. It looks like the gameplay is 1 to 1 intact- with some added haptic and visual pizazz. #loz

I'm glad a new generation might get to experience a game that has so deeply impacted me and my art and my views on storytelling. It has irrevocably shaped a part of me forever. It will always be subconsciously the source of my greatest inspirations. #loz

I find punching down at the past and its technical limitations dishonors the art made within those constraints. Artists know constraints and deadlines often shape a work for a better or worse into its ultimate self. There is no going back and changing it. It's set in stone. #loz

There's this criticism of the old video games that "they look like shit" or their obtuseness to the player experience "hasn't aged well" and thus need to be updated. This argument is used in defense of new remakes and recreations and although there's nothing wrong with remakes and recreations- #loz
