A vertical landscape photograph of the Val di Funes in the Italian Dolomites, taken in late afternoon sun under a clear, deep blue sky. A few parked campervans sit at the edge of the trees on the right. The image is built on warm and cool contrast. The low, raking light gives the rock real form, and the diagonal shadow splits the frame into a lit, advancing left side and a receding, shaded right. The layers stack cleanly, from meadow to village to forest to peaks, and the church anchors the scale: a human-made structure small enough to make the mountains read at their true size. It works within a well-known alpine view, and its strength is the timing of that shadow line.
