The Idrani Collective are all technically the same species, with many of their "castes" bio-engineered for a specific purpose. Its estimated that less than 10% of their population are "baseline" Idrani.

Two three quarter views of the same alien, one from the front and the back. The Alien is titled Fodder, a kind of common footsoldier. The alien itself is pale green with a purple bodysuit, gauntlets and leggings. A hose that looks more like a rope of intestine goes from its oddly gas-mask looking face to its stomach. Its hand has two fingers and two thumbs. Its legs are digitrade with two toes and one dewclaw appendage, sans claw. Most of all, its right forearm has been replaced with a kind of rifle as biomechanical as the rest of the alien. It almost looks like the chassis of a rifle crossed with a skulls hinging mechanic. In the space between segments of the rifle is muscle and tendon with three glowing globules. At the very bottom of the rifle is an organ, like a stomach, curving forward like a banana magazine.The creature called the Fodder is the most common and basic infantry deployed by the Idrani Collective. Designed for mass production and reliability over extreme performance, they are present wherever the Idrani Collective projects force. Fielded as one, they favor massed tactics and joined fire. With other, more tactically focused units, they are used to push forward and apply constant pressure. While the closest to the base Idrani species, the Fodder is modified extensively for combat to the exclusion of all other concerns and cloned in large numbers. Skin and skeleton structure is reinforced with a bodysuit of hardened resin fused to the body. The respiratory system has been refined, shrunk and comes with a built in filter for alien environments. A Fodder can fight in the vacuum of space, hostile atmospheres and aquatic environments if necessary. The most notable augmentation is the rifle that replaces a Fodders right arm. This is actually a secondary organism, designed to expel the contents of its "stomach" at ballistic velocity. This chemical compound then ignites mid-air, capable of burning through most combat armor types.
