Enslaving, torturing and and killing nonhumans animals is legal. It's illegal for human animals. We should not ensalve and kill nonhuman animals for the same reason why we don't enslave and kill human animals.

We call some animals family and others commodities, not because their capacity to feel is different, but because our culture assigned them different roles. Veganism asks whether that distinction is ethical, or merely familiar.
