ARROGANT MOUNTAIN

There’s a #mountain between us,
Riddled with goats
And pretentious monks.
Prayer flags snap in cruel winds,
An old tent reeks
(‘Cos that’s where the yaks
Like to take a dump.)

And we celebrate its reality
With sad songs.

After I stole the #mountain troll’s immortality, the endless centuries changed my perception of time. People were born and died as quickly as mayflies. Entire cultures crumbled into dust before my eyes.

Finally, the sun blew out like a candle. Somewhere in the darkness, the troll laughed.
