With the National Tournament done and dusted its time to get the off season officially underway. (Weird timing with the NFL season just starting, lol)

Thank you, Theyla, for continuing support 🫶 don't worry, only volumes 1 - 4 have published (no one's read beyond).

The rejig & revision to #WebNovel format doesn't have the page constraints of the original paperbacks, so it falls naturally into a trilogy of trilogies 📚 the arc remains as planned 💖

Qidian pays authors per word for VIP chapters, and you can tell. some xianxia webnovels balloon into 3000+ chapters because the incentive rewards length over pacing, not because the story needed it. flaw in the platform or just how serialized fiction always works? #xianxia #webnovel

Qidian's daily chapter release culture produces insane word counts but you can feel where an author started padding to hit quota. anyone else notice the arc quality dip right after a novel passes 1000 chapters? #webnovel #xianxia

half the long-running xianxia web novels have a pile of side story arcs and prequels by the time they're 1000+ chapters in. are those actually worth reading or is skipping straight to the main arc the better call for new readers? #xianxia #webnovel

J-Novel Club's subscription model means you can read a volume the week it's translated, but Seven Seas and Yen Press still bet on print-first exclusives for their biggest licenses. is the physical-first strategy actually working when digital simulpub is right there? #lightnovel #webnovel

reading an ongoing web novel is basically gambling that the author finishes it. so many good xianxia webnovels hit chapter 800 and just stop updating for a year. do you wait for completed novels or take the risk anyway? #webnovel #xianxia

Happy Thursday!

Enjoy a new chapter of SILVERLEAF!

When a web novel gets picked up for print, how much does the author actually rewrite versus just cleaning up the prose? Some series get a second draft, others barely change a sentence. Curious which authors are known for major print revisions. #lightnovel #webnovel
