I've started watching #Neagley the spin off from #Reacher

Really good so far.

At the end of episode 4 the music kicks in.

It's Nas with "Hip Hop is Dead", I think to myself, but then realise that it's "In the Garden of Eden" by Iron Butterfly.

Then I realise that the only reason I know . . .

I took issue w/ the #Reacher Season 4 villains being changed from al-Qaeda to Indonesian terrorists. Such a change was necessary b/c the 2009 book involved a photo of a U.S. politician in the company of bin Laden. In 2026, it would have much less relevance.

I don't know who is behind the efforts to make #Reacher more emotionally impactful and to make stories that are supposed to be about the masculine fantasy of total power and zero responsibility also have tragic notes, but you're making it better than the books.

Several videos complain that #Reacher Season 4 isn't what the Reacher audience signed up for.

I don't think that's entirely true, but say it were. Books, movies, TV shows aren't solely about fan service. Basic storytelling delays delivering what the audience wants as long as possible.
