Brad Bird’s #RayGunn is a brilliant detective film noir brought to life in stunningly colourful animation form.

With Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson on top vocal form and with a great story and visuals, the film is a real movie highlight.

A real must see movie event!

Animol (dir. Ashley Walters)

Ashley Walters delivers with his brutally grounded yet oddly heartwarming directorial debut. If you loved Wasteman from earlier this year, this will be right up your street. #LFF

Bunker (dir. Florian Zeller)

Though it’s better than Zeller’s last film, The Son, Bunker is still a bit of a mixed bag. Despite some strong performances and a jarring sequence in the third act, this is a film that tries to say a lot but not much at the same time. #LFF

Ray Gunn (dir. Brad Bird)

Despite taking a second to find its footing, once it gets into a groove it’s an absolute blast to watch. It’s full of fun characters, inventive set pieces, colourful animation and a refreshing sense of humour that keeps it engaging throughout. #LFF

I'm not as effusive about All of a Sudden as the majority. Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto are excellent and I loved the story of their friendship, but the story doesn't warrant a three-hour runtime. This truly tested my concentration. Showing at #LFF

Okay, Brad Bird’s #RayGunn is an absolute triumph. The director has crafted a gloriously atmospheric sandbox that is visually stunning, immersive, and gorgeous to look at.

The world-building is phenomenal, the characters are compelling, and the score is truly superb! #LFF

#RayGunn is yet another jewel in Brad Bird's rapidly overflowing crown. #LFF

WILD HORSE NINE: THE THICK OF IT meets IN BRUGES on Easter Island. Absolutely hilarious, pessimistic yet human and the generational contrast between youthful idealism and political cynicism more ambiguous than it first appears #LFF

And now for my final film of the day!

Absolutely LOVED Wild Horse Nine. Just so fucking hilarious and so much heart. John Malkovich so so so good. And lots in there for JFK conspiracy nuts too!
