an oil painting created with cold wax medium, which creates textures that dry within a week. The foreground is filled with brighter, yellow, and green and orange colors. and a few different trails for Hiking or walking. The middle section is less vibrant with darker or muted greens. With some purple, possibly some rocks. The top portion suggest Wood or thick forest with dark bluish green foliage. Above that are purple mountains, some light, possibly adding depth. In the top corners, a stormy blue or a mist frames the view.This is a series of beginning layers. Overall, the colors are muted. And the foreground there is yellows light greens, and browns. Dark trails start in the foreground. The Next section above is a thin section of forest, possibly rolling Hills. In the top part of the picture are purple Mountains or maybe a purple mist. All of the colors are muted throughout the painting. The texture is flat with bits of light shining through using a technique called reveal and conceal. in this case I only worked with reveal meaning showing bits of the previous layer.

A deep blue sky with wisps of haze and lines of small fair-weather clous near the horizon. High atop a mountain we are walking along light gray rock cliffs through an area of scrubby vegetation: golden brown grasses, leafy shrubs and small trees. The mountainside slopes very steeply to our left down to a valley hundreds of feet below. The left side of our view is the relatively flat Housatonic Valley below us and stretching out to the low, rolling Litchfield Hills along the horizon. Both hills and valleys are mostly wooded with some green fields and pastures, especially in the valley. Two rather large lakes and a small pond are visible. There are a few houses and farm buildings scattered around the valley and a handful of rural lanes running through it. To our right beyond a wooded knob we can see the broad, flat Riga Plateau somewhat below us but still rising high above the valley. On our far right a rounded peak rises several hundred feet above the plateau.

Last sublime Lakes District hike of season today, US-212 closing tmrw. 2960m Island Lk., got to 3050m Albino Lake. Then pass behind to 3250m, expansive views of District. Moist SW-W side of Beartooth Plateau, gets much more ❄️ than E of the crest. #climate #hiking #dogs #montana #wyoming #mountains

2950m Island Lake this morning. we got past that left-most rise 3490m Lonesome Peak, on its right side. 8C at start, mild. lite W wind. Little Pancakes Blue/Healer Corgi mix swimming out for big stick in Albino Lake (l) w Bagels in front. She is Dachsund/Corgi mix so cute. a little fall shrub color still (r) near Albino Lake.looking down to Albino Lake from our 3250m viewpoint. love the rock wall.3250m viewpoint, looking W, Golden Lake down there. will be ❄️ here Sun/Mon.

3050m Albino Lake all the kidz enjoyed it. pass behind then up to first shelf on right is where we made it to. about a 27K total hike.Jasper Lake below 3200m pass behind Albino Lake (l). melting ice patch up top showing newly exposed. a little further E from the pass (r) the E side of Albino Lake. high points 3800m + around.Our friend Jon is an accomplished mountain runner. and Pancakes/Bagels come with him and do 2X as much at least. really amazing.from the 3250m viewpoint looking S (l), Albino then Becker Lakes. Looking W (r), Golden and Jasper Lakes.
