Legendary Apollo project programmer and computer scientist, Margaret Hamilton (1936 – 2026) has passed away at the age of 90. ♡

In 1969, as one of NASA’s lead software engineers, she stood next to her software used for navigation and landing on the moon.

The slender crescent Moon brightly lit in a black sky, surrounding the lower half of the night side of the Moon from below. The whole Earth facing side of the Moon is visible, the night portion lit by sunlight reflected off the Earth. To the right of the Moon, near the edge of the frame is a faint star, 58 Leonis, shining at mag 4.81. Another, even fainter star, HD 95899 of magnitude of 7.22, sits under the crescent.
