I am on The Zellners’ incredibly niche wavelength, and this bizarre 50s biker alien invasion absurd war comedy definitely clicked for me. #FantasticFest

@heavenofhorror.bsky.socialGODMOTHER is a horror movie enjoying its world premiere at #FantasticFest. It starts out charming and sweet before dragging you through Hell. I loved it. You may think you know where it’s going, but this genre treat has a knack for throwing you off course. Read our full review!
@mattstclair92.bsky.socialMy latest #FantasticFest review is of the slasher film PLATYPUS by Joshua Gratton. Take a look!
@jonpartridge.bsky.socialI HAVE PROOF. Repetitive, ham-fisted, and just a chore to get through. #FantasticFest
@deafcrocodile.bsky.socialIsabelle, Brian, and Craig celebrate the ROY premiere with cool waters, flashing lights, and Michelin-starred BBQ!
ROY FROM SPACE screens again Thursday, September 24, at 2:45pm on two screens! https://fantasticfest.com/film-guide for details!
@donatobomb.bsky.socialPATHETIC FALLACY: My favorite Adam Egypt Mortimer by a country mile. Bizarre, renegade, punk-rock poeticism about life that swings a mean axe. Kid Cudi shines as a grief-stricken widower who Mortimer guides through a psychedelic slasher concept. Unexpected, intimate, and awesome. #FantasticFest
@ceilingcat.bsky.social#FantasticFest NO WAY DOWN. The Disney+ logo appearing at the start got a chuckle. I will renew my Disney+ for a year if they have the stones to stream this in the US. Four young adults who enter an abandoned apartment tower at night get caught in a cat & mouse game with a mysterious masked killer.
@juliansingleton.bsky.socialJIM QUEEN is such an extreme explosion of queer joy, even if it could stand to cast a wider net when it comes to the community it reverently, ribaldly represents. Get this US distribution already! #FantasticFest
@ceilingcat.bsky.social#FantasticFest BLOODY TENNIS imagines tennis as a blood sport. Six young women battle out at a private tennis academy for a spot to go to Wimbledon. Each match is sudden death elimination, literally. The trio of weirdos running this creepy boarding school steal the show. Streams on Shudder Sept 26.
@donatobomb.bsky.socialIN A VIOLENT NATURE 2 is a sizable step backward from the original. The kills go hard (again), but a flip in perspective leads to a more tedious, (even more) dead-air slasher experience. #FantasticFest
@ceilingcat.bsky.social#FantasticFest WHAT HAPPENED TO DORIS? is based on the infamous paranormal investigation that inspired The Entity. This fresh take is period appropriate (1974) and stars Heather Graham as Doris Bither, the woman terrorized by a demonic force in her home. The movie was made with involvement of
