@thegratefulcub.bsky.socialNico steps up as the series #Cubs MVP. Goes .500/.500/.625/1.125. The rest of the lines are downright embarrassing. The top three batters went hitless and barely even got on base. A pitching staff of nothing but Jake Arrietas at his prime couldn't overcome that performance.
@crimsonjacklives.bsky.socialAnd thats how the season ends for the Cubbies.
A lot of highs AND lows but it was fun and PCA put on one heck of a show.
Until next year…
@johnjhanley.bsky.socialThank you for reading, liking and sharing The Cub Cavern all season. I’m exhausted by this team as well, but thankful for the audience. #Cubs
@theelite8.bsky.socialLike most teams I actively root for, they were pathetic when put to the test…then they played in the Wild Card series and REALLY let me down.
Except Nico Hoerner. That dude is Johnny Fucking Baseball.
@johnjhanley.bsky.socialPadres 4, #Cubs 2, “Exhausted”
- We Cub fans are no stranger to failure in playoff series - but this just punctuated the collapse begun six weeks ago.
- PCA and Bregman 0-21 in the series.
- Failure prompts change. Completely outclassed.

@davidbloomberg.bsky.socialThe end of the season is a terrible time to have a team-wide batting slump. 😖 #Cubs
@umpstrikezone.bsky.socialFinal: Cubs 1, Padres 4

@schwarziest.bsky.socialWell, that was not the ending I saw coming. It was a fun season, mostly I guess. So I'll just be over here, counting the days until pitchers and catchers report. #Cubs
@cubnut.bsky.social#Cubs lost to a good team playing great.
