The Outwaters (2022) 🎬

The most arthouse found footage film I’ve ever seen. There's a slow first half, but the final act is a pure Lynchian unhinged nightmare. Zero idea what just happened, but I'll be thinking about it for days. Major respect for taking a massive swing

50/100 Mandy (2018)
Features a slow burn psychedelic revenge.

I get it, like it's a really pretty movie and the violence in the last 45 minutes is stunning. But the surreal nature and the glacial pacing made this a hard watch for my personal tastes.

HALFWAY THRU BABY!

49/100 The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe (short story, 1839)
Features: a decaying house and the decaying siblings inside it

I love the over the top dramatic way that Poe describes terror and fear. I was there for the drama of this one and enjoyed reading a classic!
#100DaysofHorror

48/100 Faire by Rachel Harrison (short story, 2025)
Features: a creepy jester at the ren faire.

Again a lot of interesting ideas but not enough answers for me to really dig it.

The Changeling (1980) 🎬

A beautiful, tragic, and utterly captivating ghost story. The eerie atmosphere, mounting tension, and sound design are an absolute masterclass. An incredible haunted house classic.

47/100 They will kill you (movie, 2026)
Features: a satanic cult hotel

I actually loved this one. It was the perfect balance of horror-action-comedy for me and the fight sequences were a blast and a half. It was genuinely a funny good time!

Pumpkinhead (1988) 🎬

Stan Winston's directorial debut absolutely delivers! It plays out like a dark, twisted fairytale with an incredible atmosphere that completely sucks you in.
And the creature? Amazing. Like the love child of a Xenomorph and the Wishmaster!

46/100 Rouge by Mona Awad (novel, 2023)
Features: Grief and a skincare cult

Ok this book is weird. It was a little too much of a fever dream experience for me but if you like it strange, I think you'll enjoy this. Awad's writing is beautiful, regardless.
