Trapping opportunities hard to come by lately, so 107 of 26 in the SW Hants garden last night very welcome).
Autumnal Rustic was NFG, but pride of place goes to Deep-brown Dart: only one previous garden record so six in a night was quite a surprise!
Merveille du Jour one of 5 other NFY.

Think this is a Large Wainscott trapped in my Cheshire garden overnight? Or is it a Bulrush Wainscott? 1st for garden either way #teammoth

#TeamMoth After 4 fresh Grey Shoulder-knot in a week (approaching 50% of the all-time record for the 4 VC's of Borders), and with the Mervs trickling in, may have peaked at 7 Mervs last night. 56/19 including my 3rd Pale Mottled Willow and 2nd Garden Rose Tortrix. The Ivy helps!

7 Merveille du Jour in the mix last night.A fresh Pale Mottled Willow.Garden Rose Tortrix.Ivy, Hops, Runner Beans and Dahlias in full bloom.

A lurking Grey Shoulder-knot discovered on the wall above the patio window. Cue retrieval with stepladder and net! Such a good-looking moth, especially when as fresh as this one. @pmandrews1973.bsky.social #teammoth

Moth numbers holding up in SE Hants 125/34. Nothing new but a migrant feel to the trap (could be local breeders, who knows this year 🤷🏻‍♂️). 4x SMW, 1x RDP, 1x Clancy’s, 4x Blair’s Mocha, 1x Rush Veneer, 3x L-album W, 4x White Point, 1x Vestal and Turnip. Best of Y. sequella #teammoth #migrantmothuk

42/18 last night, which is decent but I'm still Mervless. Box-tree 12 and Barred Sallow 8 were the most numerous, but Black Rustic, SpruceCarpet 2, PMW 2, SMW, Hypsopygia costalis, C quercana, A sparsana etc #TeamMoth

Barred red, I think. Seems very late in the year? Botton, today. @teesbirds.bsky.social #TeamMoth

Looked quite Mothy last night, as I put the #teammoth trap out. In fact I potted this up from the lid of the trap.

It proved to be NFM/NFG #496 Scrobipalpa costella (Bittersweet Moth) which is also new for the tetrad. 🔲

I was wondering if I’d ever get a different Scrobipalpa, after so many Beets.

...down at the pink Vestal club... 💗
Of an amazing 10 Vestals this morning, 7 were deep pinks, maybe born in the garden?! The other surprise amongst 88/23 was this apparent July Belle! In October. Unless anyone has any more autumnal suggestions?! #teammoth #salopmoths @migrantmothuk.bsky.social

The night promised much, delivered little! Only 22:12, no NFYs, only migrants a Silver Y and a Rush Veneer. My latest ever Dusky Thorn & a third Deep-brown Dart (not the same individual as on 3/10) best of the rest. #teammoth @pmandrews1973.bsky.social

The Satellite. Last caught here in February reflecting the adult’s overwintering life cycle.

Has partly carnivorous larvae

Eupsilia: ‘truly bare’ from the smooth patch (stigma) on the forewing which has no scales

transversa: marks across the wings

Overcast and mild overnight, and moth trap numbers up to 231:27. Three species apparently new for Blakeney Point according to the Norfolk Moths website - Plumed Fan-foot, Musotima nitidalis and Acrobasis consociella. This last also NFY for me, along with Archer’s Dart. #NorfolkMoths #TeamMoth
