I'm carefully writing a story set in 1869 Red River: plenty of historical fiction, little thread of fantasy.
A primary character was born without legs, leads an active life in Pembina & the Red River community, even rides horses... based on a real person! No fantasy there.

I try. None of my characters' emotional disabilities are cured. Some physical disabilities might be partway cured through regeneration, but never fully. And lack of a cure for one char's physical disability will be a critical plot point later.

Depending on where the people live, yes. There may be ramps, wider doors, extra places for people to sit and rest etc. Some buildings even have lifts, depending on the country. #SpoonieAuthChat

Hello! I write quirky historical fantasy with sapphic romance, but my current WIP is "just" historical. To my surprise, the autistic joy of historical research almost makes up for losing the pleasure of fantasy worldbuilding. But I love fantasy and will doubtless write more! #SpoonieAuthChat

In The Last Firstborn, Levi lives in a mega tower that has a lot of accommodations! There are audio signals and voice commands for blind and low-vision people to navigate the tower and its computer. Levi has a guide cane, but mostly doesn't even need it until he leaves the tower.

in one of my WIPs, it's "the real world and eldritch creatures and ghosts exist but mostly in secret," but the MC does occasionally get magical migraine relief from a grateful folk creature she's relocated from, say, the parking lot of the senior apartments to her back garden

(sadly that MC also gets magical making-the-migraines-worse, but she doesn't know yet that that's why she gets those particular migraines)

additionally, Edna imagined (and later used) a flying carpet as a mobility aid in addition to her cane, and a HoH half-fae girl's dad had magical lights in their home so he could tell her he needed her no matter where in the house she was

most of my fantasy is real-world adjacent, so most of the accommodations are real ones

that said, THE REMARKABLE RETIREMENT OF EDNA FISHER had spells that could help with certain conditions or acted as medication (but like medication, there's the possibility of allergies)

In Afredal, Drasik, & Adet, there are building regulations that require ramps & other accomodating features on public buildings.

In particular, Drasik's is the most robust, as one of their heads of state is disabled & is passionate about her people's welfare, &
