If you have a block already placed but is not linked via data you can right click the object in the outline go to Id_data and remap to the desired block

Or you can be impatient like moi and delete everything and replace it!

Blender tip (that i should of looked up before I made all those duplicate Crawlspaces for my penguin game) : If you need to duplicate an object and want to be able to edit it and keep all duplicates the same use Alt - D
