A5 #ParkChat I feel too connected to the memorials that are more recently recognized. I can still feel the raw fear from that day in the classroom 25 years ago, trying to hold it together in front of my students while wondering WTF was going on and if my friends and family were safe.

Q6: Some memorials are historic landscapes like Johnstown Flood NPS while Flight 93 and others are a blend between historic and memorial landscape (designed to honor). Which landscapes resonates the most to you? Any examples? @59NationalParks @naturetechfam #ParkChat

A5 I think of Statues - The Tomb of the Unknown at Arlington always moves me.
But it's the names - many memorials list names that seem so powerful. And the NYC 9/11 museum - I had no idea that they take you down into the basement of the tower. I still have a hard time thinking about it. #parkchat

A2: I enjoy visiting parks multiple times, especially to see the park in different seasons. #ParkChat

A4) RMNP for sure. The mountains, the alpine lakes, it is very thought provoking! #ParkChat

A4 #ParkChat Technically, this is a state park (Assateague), but close enough to Assateague Island National Seashore to count.

There is something about a night sky this beautiful that pulls my heartstrings, when night skies are being decimated.

A5) Maybe more detail? Though I am always thoroughly impressed with the level of detail of older memorials #ParkChat

A4 Well, I can think of many. An example would be Hegben Lake in Yellowstone where the earthquake struck in 1959. #ParkChat

Yeah, I think most any scenic view works as a good spot for contemplation. #ParkChat

Q5: Events of September 11, 2001 and others can and have shaped our perspectives on how we value and recognize life and death. What similarities or differences in memorial building do you see today compared to 100 years or longer? @59NationalParks @naturetechfam #ParkChat

A4 The Grand Canyon. I just have to sit at the rim and listen to the quiet. #parkchat
