So, I was trying to remove the d20 attack roll and just use damage as hit with the idea of Hit Dice to be rolled.

The problem for me is: if I want a neutral procedure, how do I choose as GM the number of HD an NPC/monster uses?

Damage goes from 1d4 to d6 pool (e.g. 🔥ball), so what now?
