@wiebesworld.bsky.social and I get you set for puck drop by looking at key storylines and burning questions.
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.social“I’ll be honest. It’s not comfortable.”
Scott Arniel has lots on his plate these days. But the #NHLJets coach took some time Thursday to sit down with myself and @wiebesworld.bsky.social for a wide-ranging chat.
Our exclusive @winnipegfreepress.com story: www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews...
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialKenny and I also have our detailed #NHLJets season preview on the way.
Both our pieces will be online this evening and in Friday’s print edition of the newspaper.
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.social#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel sat down with myself and @wiebesworld.bsky.social for an exclusive today.
We covered a ton of ground: His shaky contract status, tough convos and soul searching after last season, analytics, youth and speed, ViggoMania and more.

Meet Clay Stevenson, who has no problem if you prefer to refer to him by his long-standing nickname of “Mud.”
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialHere’s colleague @wiebesworld.bsky.social with an in-depth look at the new No. 1 masked man for the #NHLJets.
Stuart Skinner opened up about a number of topics including the importance of good character and accountability.
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialLandon Ferarro’s final NHL play began as a breakaway on Connor Hellebuyck and ended with a torn abductor.
“I gave myself a hernia.”
Now, 9 years later, he’s back in Winnipeg working for @tsnofficial.bsky.social
My story on the new #NHLJets broadcaster. www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews...
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.social#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel on Brayden Yager: “He’s an NHL player.”
Said the numbers game, for now, necessitated a tough decision. But made it clear he expects Yager to play a role with the team this season.
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialFunny moment during #NHLJets drill. Nino Niederreiter tries to poke a covered puck past Clay Stevenson. Tyrel Bauer was having none of it and seemed genuinely perturbed as he gave Niederreiter a shove. Meanwhile, Vlad Namestnikov was laughing his head off at the exchange.

@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialEverybody say hello to “Mud.”
Clay Stevenson is on the ice here at HFAC — and the new #NHLJets goaltender is already sporting a mask with the team logo on it, along with his No. 33.
Equipment guys move fast.
We’ll speak to Stevenson after the skate today.
@mitchellclinton.winnipegjets.comNewly acquired goaltender Clay Stevenson is on the ice with the #NHLJets as well.
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialTraining camp is over. And the first official #NHLJets team practice of the season is underway here at HFAC
Elias Salomonsson with the group in yellow non-contact. And new goalie Clay Stevenson is here as well.
@mikemcintyrewpg.bsky.socialYes, the Edmonton Oilers (once again) would seem to have goaltending issues.
Yes, trading for Connor Hellebuyck would make so much sense.
No, I don’t believe the #NHLJets goaltender would agree to go there, since Edmonton is also in Canada.
End of story.
