or starfish of the Pacific, it is a keystone species considered an indicator of health in the intertidal zone. Most of these starfish are purple but they can also come in orange (as shown), or ochre, yellow and brown.

“The interface remains. The person is still becoming.”

In René Magritte’s Le fils de l’homme, a green apple obscures the face of an otherwise familiar man. What is visible prevents us from seeing what lies behind it.

Still Loading revisits that tension in a digital age. The apple has disappeared. In its place is an interface, endlessly suggesting that something is about to appear.

Yet a person is never finished loading.

This is my linocut print of an Arctic fox running over snowy grown against the night sky, printed in a gradient of indigo to dark indigo from the base to the top. The print has a tetradic colour scheme. Along with indigo the aurora shines in swathes of lime, lemon yellow and pinkish purple. This is a variable edition of 10 prints, printed by hand on Japanese paper, 9.25’ by 12.5”.
