Gavin McKenna on facing #GoSensGo Dylan Cozens tomorrow:

“It’ll be amazing for our community to have two Whitehorse people finally play each other in the NHL. I know there’ll be a lot of people from back home watching on TV so it’ll be a special moment”

#CBJ Matthew Knies canceled his Sport Card Expo Toronto appearance that was originally scheduled for November 5-8, 2026 due to his recent trade.

All Knies tickets will be refunded within the next few days.

Sergei Bobrovsky on the rookie lap:

“I just completely forgot. I didn’t think about. I completely forgot. I came to him and I also told him. So I pretended that it was my first game too. But no, I didn’t mean to do that. So it just happened by incident (accident).”

#NYR goaltender Igor Shesterkin has more goals than #Leafs Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Kirill Marchenko and Gavin McKenna… combined! 😉

They all played 2 games each this season thus far.

Matthew Knies... WOW! #CBJ #Leafs

Sammy McKee predicts Stenberg to get a hattie tonight.
Knies going for one.
Maybe McCann?
Is Woll playing?

Lovely start to his #BlueJackets career with two goals and an assist... in the first 28 minutes of his first game in Columbus. Yikes! The #Leafs Ex-files might look frightening this season. (See Nick Robertson in Pittsburgh and Bobby McMann in Seattle).

The annual #Leafs Ex-files will be intriguing this season - #Knies, #Robertson, #Benoit, #Laughton, #Roy, #Woll, #Hildeby, #Carlo, #Lorentz, #Andrae, #Thrun, #Maccelli and #McMann, just to name thirteen.

I trust moves #Habs make or don’t make before anything #Leafs do

• He says the trade got out because Knies was supposed to do radio interviews and he got pulled.

#Leafs #PassionNeverSleeps

• Elliotte thinks Montreal was trying to get creative at the end to make a trade work, potentially involving a third team, but Columbus wasn’t crazy about their offer which included futures.

#Leafs #PassionNeverSleeps

• Montreal had been the most serious team trying to acquire Marchenko dating back to the summer and it sounds like he would have been happy to go there.
• The trade had to be reworked at the end to add Emil Andrae due to tagging and next year’s cap hits.

32 Thoughts (Oct 1): Lots of notes on the Marchenko/Knies trade..

• Toronto had the best player available for Marchenko and had the ability to take on Miles Wood and Elvis Merzlikins.
• Elliotte says Toronto was trying to flip Wood the same day.

#Leafs prospect Tinus Luc Koblar (#94 in green) made his SHL season debut today and had a lovely primary assist on the powerplay, and played 15:29 on the top line as a winger.
