9月29日は、Heart Safe Cityの日です。駅や学校、商業施設で、AEDを見かける機会はずいぶん増えました。それでも、いざというときに迷わず使える人は、まだ限られているのではないでしょうか。

制定したのは、東京都港区港南に本社を置き、テクノロジーで健康と生活の向上に貢献する株式会社フィリップス・ジャパンです。日付は、世界心臓連合（World Heart Federation）が定めた「World Heart Day」が9月29日であることにちなみます。日本では毎年約7万人が、心臓の異常からくる心臓突然死によって亡くなっているとされます。
